Beacon Awards®

Honoring excellence in communications and public affairs throughout the cable industry

The Beacon Awards recognize the best of the best cable communications campaigns. The 2009 Beacon Awards are now closed to entries as the May 15, 2009, deadline has passed. ACC members will judge all the submissions in July and August, and the finalists will be announced in September.

ACC will honor the Beacon Award winners during a gala dinner and ceremony that will kick off FORUM 2009, the association’s dynamic, educational conference, the evening of October 26, 2009, in Denver, Colorado.

2009 Beacon Awards...Honoring Cable Communications Excellence
The 2009 Beacon Awards are easier than ever to enter! Don't miss out on your chance to have your cable communications campaigns and tactics recognized. The final deadline is May 15, 2009, so enter today.

ACC Members Make the Beacon Awards Happen

ACC Members not only enter the Beacon Awards. They also donate their time and professional experience to improve program operations and develop new ways to increase the outreach and recognition of the Beacon Awards. All the entries are judged by your peers – fellow ACC members – as well.

Volunteer to Judge the Beacon Awards

Learn what your fellow cable communicators are accomplishing across the country and walk away with lots of new ideas by volunteering to judge the Beacon Awards. It is easier than ever. If you volunteer to judge the preliminary round, ACC will mail several entries to you to review anytime, anywhere during a two-week judging period. In late summer, a panel of senior ACC members, cable communications and public affairs professionals, will judge the final round in Washington, DC, and select the winning entries. Interested? Please fill out the volunteer form or contact Michelle Butler at mbutler@cablecommunicators.org or 202-222-2372.

2001 – 2008 Beacon Award Finalist Project Summaries (members-only)

The core of every Beacon Award entry is the project summary as it details the planning, implementation and results of a successful cable communications or public affairs campaign. In addition to being great sources for innovative ideas in cable communications, these project summaries serve as helpful models when drafting your own project summaries for your 2009 Beacon Award entries. ACC has posted online in its members-only area seven years worth of project summaries for the best campaigns in cable communications.
